8002F15e PS3MFW Workaround?
Hi I am trying to create my own mfw no it isn't for hacking my ps3 as I know that won't work without 4.11 keys I am just doing basic modifications with it like the pup version and features screen and themes. I used 4.11 ofw as official firmware made the mfw it went through successfully. Then I put it on my fat32 USB and tried to install but I got the above error. Did I need to install it in recovery mode? Or should I build it again?
Thanks. |

But you dont need keys for it. You only need keys for functions like install package files if I tried to make install package file in ps3mfw it would say keys don't wok as there are no 4.11 keys in the folder. I am just doing it for a basic thiń and it should install, I think it has before when I tried it a few months ago.

Well then its obviously corrupted. BTW why are you bothering to do that? It's utterly pointless.
Are you on 4.11ofw already? "8002F997 - Can not update XMB firmware" = closest error message I could find for you. |
As far as I am aware, PS3MFW will resign ANY changes, no matter how small.
If you are making changes to the XMB, this is probably why you get the error. TBH, I would stop doing what you are doing before you brick. |
Actually it's nothing to do with the XMB I'm trying to change an ssl cert. yes I am on 4.11 already.

Funny, as the error is CoreOS related, and tells you the firmware is corrupt
?corrupt? 0x8002F15E CoreOS firmware related error the workaround? making the changes proper ;) You might wanna read up about change devflash task and 4.11 signing. |
Hi euss thanks for that. Umm do you have any links where I can find info about dev flash 4.11 signing? Or did you mean I should literally just google it xD
|
you can stop googling, 3.56+ signing is not possible ;)
thus, making changes inside dev_flash packages, will corrupt it, as it cannot be resigned, hence coreOS catching a corruption error |
