3D + Cinavia
I am running my PS3 on 3.55 CFW. It's great, no complaints. I have a new Samsung 3D TV. I acquire 3D bluray ISO's that I can burn to bluray disks. I have a 3D bluray player and a media player that I can stream movies. When I play a 3D bluray iso that I acquired through my bluray player, I get that damn cinavia after 25 mins.
Does 3.55 CFW support 3D bluray's? Is there a way to disable cinavia on PS3 with some fix? SBS 3D is good, but I can stream .mkv's through my media player. Thanks for the replies. Knox |
I think that there is a Cinavia disable patch on REBUG.ME site. Not sure about it, thought. Not even sure if it works for BluRay movies.

Don't stream, as it will send it as nonBD and thus trip the decoder cinavia routine (originals play fine)
3.55 can be modded to some extent, to remove Cinavia, by replacing them for debug files. * http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Talk:...29#Cinavia_DRM Cinavia and 3D support related changelogs: * 3.01 CEX/Retail last Cinavia-less firmware * 3.10 CEX/Retail Cinavia protection added * 3.30 CEX/Retail Preparation for 3D support in games * 3.20 DEX/Debug 3D support added for Games * 3.50 CEX/Retail Preparation for stereoscopic 3D support in Blu-ray films |
Will 3.55 CFW play 3D bluray?

I'm not able to get the download links to work on the ps3devwiki site.
Can anyone else confirm this? If I read right, this only fixes DLNA streaming ? Below is a C&P from ps3devwiki. I'm after playing a burned off Bluray 3D movie without getting popped for Cinavia. Help anyone? This means that Cinavia is now disabled for all DLNA playback and copying, but Cinavia checks on AVCHD and BD playback are still present with Message Code 3 that mutes the audio as the sprx file with the Cinavia check bdp_plugin sprx is not present in DEX firmware because BD playback is disabled in DEBUG. If someone is able to patch Cinavia out of bdp_plugin sprx this will be solved too. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* After reading the PS3devwiki, the cinavia fix is for only DLNA support - or in other words, streaming movies. I have a media player for this that is not associated with the PS3. I want to watch a bluray movie is stereotropic 3d without getting the cinavia error 25 mins into it. Can this be done with a 3.55 add on for CFW? Anyone? Knox ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* I could go drop 60$ on DVDfab and buy their Blu-Ray Copy program. It's supposed to remove cinavia. I checked the NZB boards for a cracked copy but no luck. If anyone knows of a key........... Muchos Gracia. Otherwise, I'm still on the hunt. |
So I bought a copy of DVDfab bluray copy. I converted a 3D 50GB .iso to a BD25. I burned it off, no problems. Went to play it in my 3.55 CFW ps3 and I get a screen telling me to upgrade to latest firmware to play 3D content. I downloaded redbug 4.11 spoof, but is there another work around?
I tried to download rebug's cinavia fix but all of the links in the rar file are dead. Would that be of any benefit to me or is that doubling up with using dvdfab? Knox ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* This isn't really cinavia related, but I'll go ahead and ask. The ISO that I was working with was Underworld 4. The original ISO was fit perfectly for BD50. I ran it through dvdfab copy without any compression and when it was done, it's now too large for BD50. Any ideas on why that is? |
Really though people. Why will my 3D bluray not play on 3.55 CFW? I was told at the beginning of the post that it would work. Am I missing something?
I spoofed my PS3 to 4.11 and it does show 4.11 and PSN does work. My samsung TV is UN55D7000. I'm not sure of the model of my 3D bluray player, it came free with the TV. I'm happy with the TV and it streams videos fine. I use Twonky since I paid for a key a couple of years ago. It plays the SBS 3D .mkv files fine, but I want the true bluray stereotrophic. |
