Another noob needs help
 

Hello all. I just purchased a used PS3 slim (CECH2001) and it was updated to 4.21 when I got it. I can't find any info on removing/downgrading from 2.1 so I decided to ask you guys. I know 4.21 just came out last week and there probly aren't too many solutions yet. Is there any dongle/chip/software that can take me back to 3.55? Any recommendations welcome :)

My long term goals are to upgrade the internal hdd and download games from the internet to play from the hdd or from usb. Maybe dual boot.

1st download this, MINVERCHK to see if you can downgrade to 3.55. If so, click the banner up top "PS3 SCENE STATUS" to find out how to downgrade with a hardware flasher such as E3 Flasher.

@jwhisl I think you meant to say upgrade because 2.1 is older than 3.55.if you want to upgrade then upgrade to 3.55 ofw(download it from downloads) and then upgrade to 3.55 kmeaw.

Sorry I meant to type 4.21 not 2.1 lol. My ps3 has the newest firmware on it.

Thanks Alienkid. I ran the file and it said the lowest I could go is 2.70

I think I've decided to go with the e3 limited bundle for the downgrade. They say it works up to 4.11 so maybe it will work with 4.21.....

Yes it works on 4.21 No one updates the thing anymore..

I have used e3 flasher on a lot of cech-2001 models. It works great. :)
