4.21 Downgrade
 

I just have a quick question which is extremely n00bish, but I would love to know the answer.

So, with 4.21 released, and 3.55 being cracked and all that, why can't you patch the 3.55 firmware so it reads as 4.21 using MFW builder or something?

I picked 4.21 because it is already released so build numbers and all that are there and you wouldnt have to guess or something, and because you can downgrade from 4.21 to 4.20 using GlitchyJoey's "4.21 MFW v0.1.1" then installing his "4.20 v0.1.1 Reverter".

Doing that would let even people on 4.21 downgrade. So whats the hold up here?

So there's a house that gets robbed because the thief had the key to the front door (and almost every other door in the house)...the thief had a very good day as he stole almost everything! Then the owner of the house changed the lock so now the same door requires a different key...the thief now cannot return to that house without the new key (or maybe another method such as forcing entry? etc...)

This pretty much sums up the answer to a) your question and b) the PS3 scene as a whole lol.

I was under the impression that GlitchyJoey has the 4.20/4.21 keys, hence why he could mod them in MFW builder successfully? Doesn't that require keys? I attempted to do it myself and it yelled at me for not having some key.

he not got the keys and that crappy what ever he called it . is only demo ps3 fw

I realize that it's a *slightly* modified SEX/Shop/Kiosk firmware. My point is, when I tried to modify it at all, it asked me for keys. Obviously he has a key for it of some kind.
