Help Needed
Hi everyone,
I just got my first ps3, and of course it has the latest software version on it(4.21) :/ Will I need to buy some hardware in order to downgrade? This ps3 is the old 80gb (BC) version, SERIAL: (REMOVED) CECHE01 I have a few original Xbox's that I soft-modded ages ago, but this is my first modern gaming system. Videos/movies are the main reason I got the ps3. Blu-Ray is awesome too! So the reason I found this website, is that I was trying to setup a wired connection from my ps3 to my pc, since that seems to be the fastest(and only) way to to move very large video files to the ps3. For instance I have a 10gb hd video file I want to play on my ps3. I can play it from my pc using TVersity, but I think it might lose quality/buffering. I also tried to copy the file from TVersity, but it failed. The ps3 does come with a warranty from GameStop, and that will be void if I break the seal they put on the system, I'd like not to do that if I could. I might just have to get an Xbox 360 to get what I want. PS!! |

Forget the ps3
Maybe I can buy blu-ray burner that can burn BD-RW so I can use them like a HD.
Anyone know of a good place I can buy one? |
The PS3 doesn't support burned stuff. CFW or otherwise.

If I burn HD movies in the right file type to a BD-RE DL, it will play on my ps3 right?

not on 4.21 it wont

If you want to go for the easy path get an Xbox360 ;) Next time don't post the serial number of your PS3. With the model it's enough.

I know the ps3 can play movies, and I have allot of DVD/blu-ray software.
So if I burn a movie to a disc, why would that not play? EDIT: also if I burn copys of my other blu-ray movies, why would that not work on my ps3? |
I just tested my ps3 with a few DVD's that I have burned, and some of them worked!
Is there anything different in regards to burnt blu-ray discs playing on the ps3? PS! |
