Need to downgrade my PS3 from 4.21 back to 3.55
 

Hi guys, I have a PS3 Slim, originally 3.21 (I think), I had it on CFW 3.55 (rebug) for some good time, then my idiotic brother just updated the firmware to OFW 4.21 yesterday.

I need to downgrade it, but I totally lost. Is it possible to downgrade from 4.21? what do I need?

@KrazyFox , you would need a hardware flasher, such as the e3flasher and would need to install it on your motherboard of your PS3 and then downgrade via that, there is no software downgrade for OFW4.21 sorry.

What is this "Firmware Downgradable: YES 4.20" in the "PS3 Scene Status" up there? It refeers to software downgrade without need for hardware tools?

Should I wait for a Software downgrade for 4.21? I actually have quite a lot of pc games to play right now after the steam summer sales, I think I can let the PS3 rest for some time.

No, it refers to hardware downgrade, using E3 Flasher or progskeet, there is no software solution about it and probably will never have. :dontknow:

there shouldn't be a problem with 4.21 and a flasher. sometimes it takes a bit for things to update, and it probably gets annoying to modify the banner after every update(useless bull****).

You will also need a downgrade dongle/jig

hm... Then I'll just wait for something new from the scene. Maybe, if I'm lucky, something awesome may come out in the scene in the next weeks/months.

The e3 flasher and card reader really aren't that bad to install or use. They are not too expensive either. Around $115 with the flasher and card reader with shipping in USA. The solder less clip is a pain in the ass, but other than that, pretty noobie friendly.
