You can remarry, maybe im wrong hence (better if you state the models of the ps3) are :
BD400 · BD410 · BD450

Using as reference:

has anybody tried to do what i asked?

EDIT: i thought it was easy to remarry i was completely mistaking it's REALLY misterious...
i read that you have tu run the latest blu ray movie played... I remember what it is but it seemed strange to me so i read that the problem is with the DRL so you have to use the same version (can't i use an higher?)but again i'm wondering if someane has never played a movie how could he do?
I found some infos here... http://www.ps3hax.net/2012/03/ps3dev...firmware-3-55/

You still did not state what exact version of a ps3 you own.
Also you did not use the search feature. You are a lazy person and i don't help lazy people.
You are probably lazy in all your things you do. You should be ashamed of yourself. Now please just follow the tutorial from the devwiki

If you remarry on 3.55, before you exit fsm you have to play a blu-ray movie. Any blu-ray movie will do.

As for the 80gb or 60gb question. Model #'s would be better. Hard to guess what boards you are talking about.
For best results use the same daugterboard revision as the original (although it is still possible with different ones). Check here.

LOL.
if you have read what @hellsing9 posted you could have seen that the ps3 model is not directly connected to one bd (ooops sorry! I'm the lazy one...)
On ps3hax i haven't found nothing like this... on ps3devwiki it is clear but i have some problem with DRL files i've found so many comments like this one:

"this remarries the drive to the console - it does NOT create the drl files (files required to play blu ray movies) so if your drl files are different then you get that error and there is no direct fix for it unless you know the blu ray movies played in the drive. (drl gen can make drl files if you know the details about what discs have been played by the drive however if you are like me and don't have this information then your stuffed.)

theres a pkg tool for devs that will only run on jfw 3.56 ma that can get the information from the drive about which discs it has run however i don't fancy being locked to 3.56 forever so i, like most others, am going to have to live without bluray playback for a while longer."

@alexsius

If you follow this remarry guide, you will have bd playback.

Just make sure to do these steps:
Quote:

6. After you run the initial remarry process, do not take it out of factory service mode.

7. Put a BD movie disc in and run it on the PS3. (This restores your DRL files!)
You can use any BD movie disc. It does not have to be the last one played.
