PERMABRICK?

Hi.My Phat 80GB PS3 was downgraded from a 4.20 update, by a professional. He never told me he already installed Rogero's no check CFW3.0 when he did the downgrading.
I was under the impression he just downgraded it to OFW 3.55(YES I am a noob and did not no about the "no check firmwares" that have to be used with a downgraded console),so, when I got my PS3 back, I attempted to install KMEAW's 3.55 CFW.
Well then,my PS3 bricked.
I immediately sent the console back to the repair service, hoping that all it was going to take to UNBRICK my console was a reflash of the chip.
This, was not the case. The guy who does the repair service informed me that my PS3 is a special model and that simply reflashing it will not undo the brick. After a few months of waiting, I got informed that my console has a PERMABRICK.
I need a second opinion and I thought that I could get one here?

:( p!ssed dude :(

That "pro" obviously wasn't very good. if he made a dump you might be able to restore? or is that wishful thinking ?

I have never in my life heard or a "special" board that can't be reflashed if you have the bios from that console. If he is a pro, then he would know that you should always have a copy of your bios. He should have also provided them to you via upload or USB or something, so you could try to fix it yourself or have someone else take a look at it. What is the model ps3? It may still be save able. Yu can always try to do a dump from its current state and patch it or redowngrade it. As long as the per console data is there still, it isn't permabrick

re-dump the flash
the 3.55 one its on now
check it then patch it
flash it back
then de-hash (this is the step this "professional" should have done. as he didnt then he has not provided you with the full service you have paid for.)

as for what he said ist all bollocks as its more the case he has no idea about the de-hash and the fact you can just re-dump the "soft brick"

ps
are you in the uk? if you are pm me your details. your console details. when the console was taken in and this guy's phone number or his e-mail adress

i hate ppl ripping off other ppl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He sounds like a proper scam artist :( avoid at all costs

This makes me mad too.

People think they know what they are doing, and charging people for downgrading. Not even knowing the downgrade process is not complete, without dehashing.

He told you you had a special board that couldn't be reflashed, because the idiot didn't save your backup.
And he doesn't have the knowledge to do what @baileyscream said, to fix it. What an azz.

can you reinstall rogero no check update ,can you enter to recovery menu

Million ways to say what I already said in my earlier post. The guy is not a pro. Re dump your bios and patch them or flash the bios you have and redowngrade. Not dehashing gets them every time. If you don't have what it takes to do so, then get a REAL pro to do it for you.

yeah, dump your flash, patch it, then flash it back to the NOR. then enter FSM and reinstall rogero v3.3
and this time...... dehash like a pro :P

if you live in the usa i could fix it for you easily. for a fee of course.

have i just read this right?
are you saying re-install rogero cfw to de-hash?
rogero cfw has the downgrade hashes and it's these downgrade hashes that need removing by de-hashing (using 3.55 ofw or 3.55 no bd ofw) then you can change firmware without this "soft brick"

yea if you do this yourself then as Bigbones87 has said above if you de-hash in fsm then do it a few times so you know it has done it.
if you use the QA flag way then it should do it the first time but i still do it 2-3 times just as its quicker to de-hash 2-3 times then to have done something wrong and have to re-do the whole downgrade again.

no
what he has is the ps3 having a panic
he will be turning the ps3 on but it will instantly beep flash yellow then turn off with the red light flashing

(i call this the RLOD but i know others call this YLOD so i leave what you call it up to you lol)

as the ps3 gives you no chance to do anything befor it turns off then you need a hardware flasher to dump the NOR / NAND firmware then check its a good dump. patch it for downgrade. write it back.

and now it will stop the panic and let you finish the downgrade etc
