E3 Flasher Clip Install Error
 

Hi Guys

Ive got a Slim CECH 2004A. Which has firmware 4.11

I am getting the famous 3 lights meaning clip is not secure. I have sanded the clip down and also used alcohol to clean the points. Ive also tried the penny tricks. Ive only sanded the side with the troublesome resistor

Struggling with the clip. Any suggestions? Please find attached pics of my install and clips

Omg, I really do not hope you did the same mistake as me. I Bought a clone.
It's 100% the same as a original e3 flasher, but it doesn't work.
You should take out your e3 flasher mainboard (The one the resistor is on/ the biggest board). Check if there is any numbers on the back of the flasher board, if the numbers is 1312 you will be screwed, there is no known way to get this working.
Everything my seller said to me was this: "I have downgraded multiple ps3's with this type of flasher". He didn't even care to say what he did to make the "Fake" flasher works, some guy said you had to shave something of the clip, but he didn't say anymore :/
Also, you should try something higher than coins, try to cut some pieces of a t-shirt or something and fold it over and over until it's high enough to that the motherboard is pressing down constantly on the piece.
That's what I did, but no sucsess :/ I really hope you got the real version, damn clones, e3 team told us "E3 clones has appeared on the marker".
I bought it 2 weeks maybe 3 weeks before any news about clones, it's kind of boring.

Thanks for the info, its not a clone. Ive checked E3 website about clones. Mine is an original. Will try the stacking and see if that works

How many have you JB? with this method

no i just clean clip with some liquid for magnetic head. i jb only this console with this method but allot of times because i bricked it allot of times.

Everyone finds there on way of doing it. There really isn't any wrong way, as long as the outcome is success. I have tried the nickel trick and got to work. I have also done one shaving down the side with the pesky diod and got it to work. I have done most of my downgrades by putting something that is just a little less than a 1/2 inch on top of the already taped clip and taped it down. Then it will sandwich itself between then clip and the rest of the assembled colnsole and apply constant pressure to all sides of the clip. Just make sure whatever you use, that there is equal and constant pressure on all sides of the clip. Good luck

Oh and don't forget to check and double check those bios dumps. And if you succeed in downgrading, then make sure you dehash, the last most important step to avoid softbrick.

After trying and trying again. I finally made 2 bios dumps. Very exciting stuff... Now busy with the dump checks. Will keep you posted.

I taped the clip down with electric tape and then stuck paper over it and then tape again. :)

Bummer dump the bios but they are bad. Need to work on the clip again
