Touchscreen sensitivity/accuracy on a Vita.

Got my Vita about a week ago and tonight had it sitting below my monitor and while on a screen that was mostly white I looked down and noticed I could see the grid lines for the touch screen area on it. Figured I'd show it for those curious. Looks to be 1/4" squares or so. Kinda neat. Oddly, my iPhone 4S doesn't show these lines in any kind of light. Maybe it's the different darkness of an OLED screen, not sure. :p

So far, based on your experience with the Vita, could you recommend it to someone that enjoyed the PSP?

Yes.

It's great! Just needs some more games, maybe a slight price cut on the hardware and/or games and it'll be the perfect system but yes if you enjoyed the PSP then you'll love the Vita.

I have played around on one for a couple of hours. It is cool, if you really like handhelds. It is just a little expensive if you ask me. $250 for a handheld when you can get the real deal for that. Little much, but I guess I never have a chance for handhelds as I am always at work, driving, or at home where my real console is.

Definitely. I loved my PSP, and I've actually just gotten 3 PSP games for it (the GTA trilogy: Liberty City Stories, Vice City Stories and Chinatown Wars) and it's been the perfect replacement. Uncharted has to be played to be believed. It's seriously PS3 level gaming in a handheld, with a few extras that add to the gameplay. The rear and front touch and tilt/sixaxis adds extra depth. Rubbing the screen to clean off relics you find is awesome indeed. There's even a point where you have to look through a sheet of paper by aiming the camera at a source of light to "see through it". A kick ass handheld hands down.

Edit: And it's kinda neat to see my PS3 trophies (as well as Vita trophies) on it.

You're wrong about the touch screen block size\areas. If they were that big the screen would be next to useless.

You obviously know nothing about the subject. The tip of a finger is typically ~1/4" itself. Any smaller of a grid would be overkill, and for your information, I didn't insert those lines, they were exposed under a precarious lighting condition. Have a look at a typical capacitive touch screen as shown on wiki.

Also, do yourself a favor: if you don't REALLY know what you're talking about, do some research before you argue with someone who does. ;)
