PS3 FAT CECHA04 no signal

Hi people.

In two days I'm going to receive a "broken" PS3 Fat CECHA04 from a friend.
He says that the PS3 works but doesn't show any signal.

Notes:
- Turns on without error
- Doesn't automatically switch off
- Fan is working
- All LEDs showing normal color
- No signal
- Switches off via power switch (back)
- Doesn't switch off with power button (front)

Other notes:
The PS3 was not in contact with an E3 Flasher or otherwise.
What can be here the problem? What can I do to fix this?
Hope someone can help me :)

Is it connected via HDMI?
If so, you could try connecting it with another sort of cable. Like the standard ones

GLOD. Needs reflowing or reballing.

I will try this if I get the PS3.

So this means the RSX processor is maybe not more fixed on the mainboard? :S
Hopefully this will not be the issue.

It is, it's a known issue, it's the same as YLOD except without the yellow light.

It could be as easy as resetting the video settings.

Or it could be the RSX chip, like already stated.

When you get it, the first thing you should try to do is go to the recovery menu.
If the menu shows up, start from option 1. and work your way down, until something works.
That is what I always do first, when I receive a broken PS3.

If you don't get to the menu. Then it is the RSX chip.

He can't turn off the PS3 via power button after turning it on, so it's obviously not a matter of video settings.
Also, you say "all LEDs working normally" but is it really the case for the HDD LED? If you have GLOD, it should blink once and then nothing.

I got the PS3 today and tried to get to the recovery menu or reset video settings, but nothing works, just green power light and doenst take any controller.
It just turns off when I hold the power button after and before standby ...

So it's the RSX problem, I going to open the PS3 later and try to "reflowing or reballing" it. Hopefully I can fix this.

I know some people who do reballing services for $40 which is quite freakin cheap if you ask me
