Can you help me choose ? Extremely important
 

Guys, this thread should be pretty long, so please bear with me (This could be my last post here ! lol)
Next week, I'm buying my gaming console. I still haven't decided yet which one it would be (No this is not the silly which console is better question.)
I could buy an Xbox360, get it flashed, burn new games. The problem here is that to play new games on xbox (xgd3 games) you should burn them with a special drive, iHas Burner, otherwise you'll get errors and only burn 97% of the game's content to the disk, and it should be used with verbatim disks. It's not that I can't afford these, it's that I won't even find them. I live in Tunisia, and an iHas Drive with some Verbatim DL disks aren't available (and I can't use ebay to get them). Also Jtag/Rgh is not available here, that would've been my first choice (obviously if there's no jtag I can't expect to find x360key or similar stuff)
The other choice is of course PS3. I love the PS3 as a console, I like that you don't have to buy batteries or any play-and-charge kit for the controller. I like the exclusives, uncharted, GoW, Heavy Rain, LBP, MGS... Of course, you know the problem with playing newest games. Now I can convert it to DEX, switch b/n 3.55DEX and 4.20DEX, and thus play both old and new games. But that Ps3gen method is really limiting. My question is, how likely do you think there will be a better way to play new games ? My opinion is that DEX is obviously the future of PS3 jailbreaking, so I think that focusing on finding a method to play the games easily on 4.20 DEX, so instead of decrypting TB eboots and staying limited to that, Devs could figure out a way to really make the PS3 an open console. I hope I'm not being too demanding, and I really thank all the devs that helped in the PS3 scene, even though I haven't been interested in the scene but lately. Anyway, I asked at the new multiman DEX release thread, but no one answered. Can that version of multiman run on 4.20 DEX ? If it can, can it play backups ? or at least, 3.55 and eboot-fixed backups without switching the firmware version ? Will there ever be a way to play backups on 4.20DEX ? Also, if a new firmware version is released by $0Ny, could that version be available for DEX or is that not sure ? I mean if there's a 4.30 firmware version, can it be ported to DEX ? Is there a chance for a 4.20 CFW ?
My final question is, do you think it's worth it to go with the PS3 and take the risk ? I really want to play uncharted and GoW, but also I want to play other franchises that I've been following for the past years, like Assassin's Creed III, Far Cry 3, Fifa 13, Splinter Cell Blacklist, the new Tomb Raider, NFS MW... or is it better to go with xbox and deal with the hassle of errored disks and such.
I can't afford both btw.

Please answer, I really need to make a choice !

If I were you I would figure out a way to get a 3.55 or 3.55 downgradable PS3.
(you can use my tool: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=41685 to try figure out the FW version without even turning the PS3 on)

(I have both (2xPS3's 1 OFW 4.21, 1 3.55 CFW) and a x360 and ihas burner)

PS3 is so much easier to back games up on a hdd, my 360 discs get lost or damaged all the time recently.

Why cant you buy a PS3 off ebay (I didn't understand that part)? or private sale? there must be people selling used consoles in papers or magazines locally?

When a new DEX fw comes out we will have to see what sony has messed with to see if the PS3gen method even still works.

One day a better DEX method for playing back ups will come out for 4.XX DEX but it will always require you to have a PS3 start out on 3.55 to obtain mtldrpwn/eEID0 key etc.

what @DEFAULTDNB said. There's no way to predict the future. I've just bought a slim off ebay, and I'm getting it downgraded. Once I have enough cash, I'll buy a ps3 for OFW for newer games, and again once I get enough I'll get a 360.

It sounds like you've talked yourself out of the 360 already so get yourself a ps3 on 3.55 and enjoy some homebrew, then save up some money and buy another one for OFW.

EDIT: Ive just seen the bit about not affording both. If your'e buying your games then you can always go a few months without buying some in order to save for a new console. If you're pirating then you can think of money you're saving by pirating.

If you'd have made the one before this your last post I'd have been much happier.

I had x360 for a year and I was disapointed for lack of exclusive games, than I sold it and bought PS3 and I really enjoyed it very much. And for multiplatform games I mostly use PC, it is not something special but most PC nowadays with average GPU can run all new games just fine.

PS3 scene and drama, they can't go without each other ;)

@hccompany Xbox 360 is better for multi platform games and backups but the Ps3 is better for exclusive games.Oh and you burn XGD3 games without the iHas drive,but not every game will work.(example Forza 4) It's you choice which is better for you.
