I just hope they'll work on a better PS3 Slim design for this newer model because the photos out there for the supposed new PS3 Slim looks like Sony and a Chinese bootleg had a son. Just awful.

Not to forget the hardware will be revised and cut down even more.

I'm not too happy with my PS3 Slim (250 GB edt.) but I have to blame on Sony because there's just not sufficient goodies to make the PS3 so usable. The YouTube App is a good way of moving forward but even YouTube App needs a lot of improvements.

Can it run games at 4k in current hardware?(I mean the CPU and GPU?)

We kind of do need a new one. The PS3 is old hardware, powerful, but old. Just look at the graphics produced by modern gaming PC's and you will easily see the difference between them and the PS3.
