Interesting article, thank you @hellsing9 .

I like to think there is a possibility of a multi-verse.

Awesome read, man.
I love this sh1t.
From time to time, when I remines and kick my brain into filosophic mode,
I explore these ideas in my head.
What if we are all just a "fish in the tank" next to other "fish in the tank" and on and on...
Spins your head, doesnt it. Fascinating!

what if we are * a tiny planet in a massive universe, which itself is the size a grain of sand knocking about in a far larger planet, which is: go to *

JonahUK 10-03-2012 09:09 AM

Our universe is merely a single atom of a cell in the body of another "being" whose universe, in turn, is a single atom of a cell in the body of another being and so on and so on.

Right now the fastest NASA supercomputers are cranking away at about double the speed of the human brain,” says Rich. If you make a simple calculation using Moore’s Law (computer processing power doubles around every two years)
Probably this is true but scares the **** out of me..
I knew back then that MIT was (or is) working on the use of supercomputers to emulate *human mind/toughts*.

The "Modern" PC has only been around for roughly 40 years so you can see how much the processing power changes with each iteration so Moores Law is essentially true and accurate.

It used to be said that it took 30 years for major technical innovations to become common place (i.e, in every home etc). Just look at the PC and Mobile Phones etc.
Both started getting popular in the 80's and now both are common place and used by all generations (from kids to grandparents)

That original estimate has drastically dropped due to the evolution in manufacturing of any new technology and costs are drastically reduced due to the production output and mass consumption of any new technology along with the "throw away" culture of modern society.

Gah, I hate being the grammar police but I'm a philosophy major and can't stand to see when people spell it "filosophic." Philo-Love + sophia-Wisdom=Love of wisdom. that aside, I've never thought of the multi-verse like a fish tank before so that's definitely an interesting concept

hellsing9 10-03-2012 11:07 AM

We are on a multi-verse where there's a ton of options to pick and ton of doppelganger's that choose the wrong or right one (Matrix scene).
This cyperpunk thing i totally love it.

Next step = Human augmentation (Deus ex style).

Why do you all hate English so much?
