PS3 "NO APPLICABLE UPDATE DATA WAS FOUND"
 

SOMEONE please help!!!
I was on Rebug CFW 3.55 with 4.20 spoof,,while i was playing Tekken X SF i got suddenly RSOD and then i thought i could just fix it buy updating in safe mode like usual,,but this time i dunno wtf is wrong on my ps3,,i made the update folder like this "PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP" and I'm sure its right,and when i went to safe mode with my usb and when its say to press START and SELECT its just loading loading after that its says "NO APPLICABLE UPDATE DATA WAS FOUND"
and says please insert 3.40 or later firmware but why the hell its telling me to update 3.40 or later it should tell me 3.55 or later because i was on 3.55 cfw,,an d then i thought it could be the HDD probleme then i bought and enlosure from ebay then i hooked up my ps3 hdd and inserted it in the enclosure and then made a format fat32 and then reinserted the hdd on the ps3 and then the RSOD is gone but still the same ****ing error message "NO APPLICABLE UPDATE DATA WAS FOUND" and also tried with ntfs format but still no luck:dontknow:,,maybe its a sony conspiracy maybe not:questionmark:

And it just keep frustrating me:ahhhhh: and i dunno what else i can do maybe my ps3 is gone froever:( but i hope its not so please any help from PS3hax will be a gift for me and i will pray for you:)

i had this i changed the hard drive used different usb and also downloaded a different 3.55 update i got that from ps3devwiki the it updated and sorted it.

So you mean if I say buy a 2.5 sata for example 60gb from e-bay,,then do you think that i can fix this problem i mean my ps3 will take the update?

and ya also tried from 16gb cruzere edge to 4gb hama usb stick but still in the same loop:(

Definitely shouldnt have done that.

Im confused: did you put OFW 3.55 on the usb stick? if so or if not: try download it again from the FW link in my sig under OFW-CEX > 3.55.

Just tried like you said CEX>3.55 ofw from ps3devwiki.com but no luck:dontknow:,,and now I'm downloading DEX>3.55 and lets see what will happen:boring: if I'm going to fail then maybe i need to change the hard drive but still it doesn't makes any sense:questionmark:

WTF, DEX FW is NOT going to help you here.

When I converted to dex I cant remember what I done wrong but I messed up the 1st 2 times and after that the 2 hdd's I used wouldn't work in my cfw or ofw ps3's. All I got was "no update data found". The hdd's would be recognised on pc ok but not ps3.

My solution = get another hdd.

well when i tried with DEX-3.55 ofw after loading loading my PS3 says:

"preparing to update
do not turn off the system
after preparation has completed,the system will restart automatically"

and after 100% complete my ps3 restart but its come back to the same screen:

"The system software cannot be run correctly.press ps button to try to restart the system.
if the system cannot be restarted,you must reinstall the system software.
Connect storage media that contains update data version 3.40 or later,and press the START and SELECT buttons at the same time."

I have no ****ing clue what else I can try:questionmark:
my hard drive is complete ok,because when i connect with my enlosure to the pc it start normally without any problem.

Have you ever completed a CEX to DEX tutorial on this PS3? (considering you said you were on rebug.... I'll presume no)

If the answer is no then attempting to install DEX fw on your CEX machine is NEVER going to work.

Is it plausible to enter FSM and then reinstal 3.55 OFW?
