Is FckPSN safe?
 

I heard about FckPSN when it came out, but didn't want to try it because it wasn't stable and the PS3 was my brothers and he doesn't want to do such stuff that might mess the PS3 up. But now he doesn't use the hacked PS3 no more and I can use it. I just converted it to DEX 4.21 last week and it was fun playing Resident Evil 6 and other 4.21 games. But I heard that FckPSN was working again on some other PS3 hacks Forum and decided to check it out. After I checked it out I wanted to try it. Searched on YouTube for Tutorial and found out that people were hosting XP lobbies for MW3 on 3.55, Sweet! I very want to try that and get to like the last prestige and all my friends from my school will be like wtf how did you get to the last prestige, lol it be funny.

But the thing is I don't know what the risk of it is. If I sign in with my account that I use on my legit PS3 would they be able to ban it easier. Also If they ban me would it just be an account ban or like a console ban like in the XBOX 360?

To sum it up, my questions are what are the risk on using FckPSN to sign in and can they actually ban you? Also are PS3 bans are console ban or account ban? Thanks

Sony bans the console but only in extreme cases like use of mods/cheats online.
F*ckpsn spoofs the console id so there shouldn't be much risk of being banned but to be on the safe side(and to not ruin the party for everybody else who plays normally) do not use any kind of cheat/mod/glitch when playing online.

That is a common misconception. It may blank your console ID but your MAC address and PSID are still exposed.

So daily users who are playing "fair" online should be able to continue doing so without much fear??

I have accounts on both of our systems one of which is cfw with F@ckPSN and the other on ofw and I have played online every time the F@ckPSN works and have not been banned thus far.

Its a pity there isn't an app that can change your mac address. You can do it on pc for your nic and Ive done it a number of times just to learn how. It would add an extra level of security against not getting banned on psn

True but those who have been banned only needs to change their console id in order to be online again so,as far as i know, sony never banned anyone using their mac or psid or at least it was like that the last time i checked.
I've never been banned before so i can't test it and say that it's 100% true.

but you can still get account banned. Now I have one primary PSN account and even if I dont use PSN much anymore I still like to occasionally sync my trophies and play the PS store content that I had purchased in the past. There is information on bans in the ps3devwiki so it has had to happen to someone for any information on how it works to be on the wiki. If you get account banned and you bought anything from the PS Store then you just gave up all of your licenses for that content.

Also I believe that ****PSN no longer blanks out the console ID. Not sure about this personally just going by something someone told me. Also as of a little bit ago you do not need ****PSN if you do not want use it. @itskamel released a pup he made with MFW builder and some edited MFW builder tcl tasks. PSN access without the need for a proxy.
