Dex 4.21 and bdemu
So I just realized that even though I can install more than 4 games to my USB hdd, I have to set a default game on the Pc for it too show up on the PS3
Is there no way in Multiman to change default game, so that I don't have to keep taking the USB to my pc? Maybe I missed something somewhere. |
I think this has been answered mate:

switching slots (4,5,6,7,8,9) isn't working from multiman only, looks we need latest aldostools DEX game mounter, the changelog shows a "work-arround" for switching slot 4,5,6,7,8.....from multiman in combo with DEX game mounter
http://aldostools.org/DEX_Game_Mounter.exe 02.03.04 Code:
-mounts BDEMU slots: |
Thank haz367
I can't get my ps3 to connect to ProDG as Dex game mounter says you need to be connected. Its probably just a matter of settings in ProDG but I can't find the right article to tell me what I would need to use with Dex Game Mounter. Because I just want to run my games from BDemu hdd, not my pc. |
Hey
@windrider42
for DEX game mounter, it should work if all is setup correct, not tested the "latest" build yet, it includes newest "rcp_bdemu" :) update regarding multiman and mounting slot456789 from multiman ONLY why we didn't think of that ;) it must have worked al this time ;) did some test with 10 slots and multiman only(+LAN wire connected) after an post/update from deank(thx) over at crunch that it needs a "manual" reboot after mounting slot 4,5,6,7,8,9 not the perfect way, also in the sense of "showing" the extra slots correctly, they look/are empty after scanning/refresh, although they DO work after a reboot, not the fastest way, anyway all slots work :) keep in mind, this way without DEX game mounter and Prodg u can have only 10 slots, if u go the DEX game mounter way, one can have and use up to 255 slots, need to test this later on anyway to not have any freezing on loading XMB after switching slots 4,5,6,7,8,9 with multiman, do it this way: 1) ps3 - release mode 2) run multiman and refresh bdemu game list 3) slot 0-3 are scanned correctly and show up, the others(4,5,6,7,8,9) looks empty ignore this and select e.g slot 9, multiman unmounts previous slot and tries to mount slot 9, it tell's u that it can't find the game in that slot, ignore this error.... 4) exit to XMB 5) reboot PS and slot 9 shows up and works now if u wanna switch slots again, for every switch after the first, u'll need to REFRESH bdemy game list, fail to do so and selecting e.g slot7 wil frees/lockup the PS3 if trying to shutdown/reboot, it takes couple seconds...but it is required to have 10 working slots without any freezing! |
This also kinda works for more than 10 images but you have to use ps3gen to switch to image #10 or greater. my ps3 used to freeze every time I used ps3gen to select image #4 or greater, now it doesn't anymore.
I'll modify what @haz367 posted to better explain: anyway to not have any freezing on loading XMB after switching slots 10 or greater with ps3gen, do it this way: 1) ps3 - release mode (I am using development mode by the way) 2) run multiman and refresh bdemu game list 3) slot 0-3 are scanned correctly and show up, the others(4,5,6,7,8,9) looks empty ignore this. 4) exit to XMB 5) Turn off ps3 and use ps3gen to select e.g slot 11. Boot PS3 and slot 11 shows up and works now if u wanna switch slots again, for every switch after the first, u'll need to REFRESH bdemy game list, fail to do so and selecting e.g slot7 wil frees/lockup the PS3 if trying to shutdown/reboot, it takes couple seconds...but it is required to have all working slots without any freezing! Edit: It seems you can save time by just selecting the first slot (0) instead of refreshing the bdemu list, then select the slot you really want. |
Thanks haz367 and butnut
I am going to get another hdd and try all this. My WD Mybook 1TB seems to have issues. Multiman only sees the first default game . It nevers scans the rest and show their names. I have even tried setting default for one of them on the pc first, but then multiman doesn't see any games or freezes. |
