WINDOWS 8
Has anyone ever... used it? And what's it like for gaming? Should I stick with my Windows 7 installation? Should I dual boot it to try it out? :dontknow:
|
it sucks.. stay on 7 ;)
|
I haven't used it yet (well had a 5 mins check on it in PC world), interested to know too, as my vista laptop is on the way out and need either 7 or 8 on it STAT.
Vista sucks :( |
I still have it here on my hd, but didnt install it yet.
But the people that i knoww used it are happy with it, they say it's nice but not better as win7. But you could always Dualboot and let us know :D EDit/ whahah oke it sucks |
From all of the people I have asked that have used it, they all say it is garbage.
|
i like it
gaming performance = same if you dont like metroui then stay away as thats the biggest difference i have noticed from 7 sure you can edit it to be like 7 but why bother? install it onto a vhd and test it. in case you dont know about vhd's they are basically bootable VM's that act as physical drives. here are some more details and a guide if you dont like it simply edit bootlist and delete the vhd. best way to dual boot i have ever used |
I have the consumer preview and installed it on a vm and it is basically 7 without the start bar and a secondary desktop designed for tablets. The images like that dumb fish look like crap if I may add...not sure what they were trying to achieve with that. A buddy of mine went to a Microsoft seminar where they explained Windows 8 and he said that its another vista. Stear clear. Its WOFTAM

From just the games view:
if you are gonna use it just for hardcore games stick it with 7. but there are some interesting things coming up with 8 apps for the casual gamer... So i recommend it if you play alot of quiky games lol |
I've used it and I'm back to 7.

A lot of interesting feedback. Thanks, all!
