DEX2CEX brick
 

Hello everyone,

I had converted my PS3 to dex with the linux/multiman tutorial for SLIM models (NOR).
It all worked fine, till I decided to go back to CEX becouse of the new CFW for ps3...
As you can guess, I turned off my ps3..... >.<
I followed the tutorial about how to unbrick your PS3, but after I prepared my PS3 using power-eject with my PSP as jailbreak device, I got stuck.
Once I use the PSP, i get the normal stuff in my display about changing some hex values. Then, when the ps3 turned of automaticly, i putted in my USB stick with the Lv2diag.self and the PS3UPDAT.PUP on the root of it.
At this point, it normally installs the firmware from your USB, but here it doesn't....
It only gives the 8 beeps, then shutsdown and is still bricked....


Could ANYBODY help me ? I can make pictures, vids etc. But please help me out. :s

i had the same brick yesterday, only thing is i used my htc desire to recover.
Remeber to use the right slot.
my phone wanted me to use the left usb, but the right one is the correct one.

And power off tottally before doing the eject trick

Thanks for your (fast) relpy ! I did the trick with the most right usb port on my ps3 (USB0 port, as usual)
What app did you use to recover ? Maby the PSP thing doesn't work....

I think i know what i did wrong,, I tried to switch from It'skamels pup. That allows retail packages on Debug unit. Maybe that's why it gives me 8 beeps and I can't flash to OFW CEX ??

Okay, what I tried and noticed:
Tried to use my PSP for the JiG several times (the only jailbreak device i have)
It requests a jig challange; gets the challange; calculate and return the challange;

Then the ps3 beeps 10/8 times (don't really know :s) and shuts itself down.
I remove the cable from my psp to the ps3 out of the most right port.
Then i put in my USB stick with the 366kb Lv2diag and the PS3UPDAT.PUP

I turn on my PS3, and instead of the harddisk indication light that is going to flash, and install the firmware, I get the 10/8 beeps......... And the ps3, again, shuts itself off....
No factory.txt has been created on the USBstick and no UPDATER_LOG.txt


ANY IDEAS ???? I'm so totally unhappy with my bricked PS3, becouse my kids are constantly asking me "dadd, can I play our new ps3 game ??"

(yeah, well, they are dutch, just like I am... So that's not exactly how they say it....)
