Fake Save Data Owner on Rogero 4.21 CFW
 

Hello guys. Well I have been following all the recent exciting news and since Rogero has already released his updated (hopefully stable) CFW 4.21 v. 1.09, I would like to flash it over my Rebug 3.55.2. BUT, here's a problem: I've been using it's debug settings feature Fake Save Data Owner for a long time because of few game saves that were created on a different account. From what I have read, this feature affects all the saves that were modified with this option activated, so obviously I won't be able to use them without having it... And since I can't QA Flag the console on the 4.21 CFW, I suppose I'll have to wait until someone else (possibly Rebug?) releases some CFW/pkg to accomplish this, am I right? Thanks. :)

Thanks for your replies, well I think I'll stick with my 3.55 CFW for a few more days ;)

There are commercial save data resigners you can buy but I cant remember what they are called so just use google.

If you don't want to buy anything then read on, but this could take a while depending on how many games you have.


First backup to an external usb every save you ever used fake save data owner on.

Turn off fake save data owner and don't turn it back on.

On your ps3 delete every save you ever used fake save data owner on.

Create new saves for all those games.

Now with a file manager or ftp transfer the contents of all saves except for the param.sfo from your external usb directly into the new saves on your ps3.

Now play each game load the save and save again. If you received no errors then you are done converting saves.

I don't know if this method works for every game but it works for every game I tried it on.

You can also sometimes use this method to convert save data from another region.

I am not trying to promote Game Genie for PS3, but it does any amazing job on resigning saves. (Secondary Feature).

@butnut Well, it worked only for 1 game (Burnout Paradise), the other games (Uncharted, GT5, NFS: Hot Pursuit) showed corrupted data :( .
EDIT: I tried modifying PARAM.SFO's of the games using Param Edit and PS3 Save Unlocker but none of them worked :(

Well, I know for a fact that this process works on Uncharted and GT5.

At what point in the process do you see the corrupted data error?

There is PS3 Xploder and Game Genie like gingerbread mention that can resign the saves.
