DCMA bull****
May have already heard about it, but it looks like sony wins. x.x

will it stop us?
hell no! they win nothing except a piece of paper that gives them an excuse to cry like *****es when we still do what we want with our sh*t my purchase = my device and f*ck anyone who tries to tell me otherwise :) |
I really hope it's that simple x.x If you recall sony went on a suing rampage for anyone who even looked at their PS3 funny, who's to stop them now that it's written in stone as illegal from, say, adding something to their newer firmwares that detect if your system is modified in any way and identify it? I mean..hell, if we ever get PSN back, just them having 'booted up Multiman ver. xxxxx' means they know you've done something illegal. ._. Iunno, it's really bull**** that people don't rise up about this stuff. Moreso that our govt. gets away with it.
*edit* I mean, hell..as it sits, their TOS (which won't hold up in court, but anyway) essentially says they can add or remove whatever and you can't do jack about it. Surely it wouldn't be very hard to add something that detects these things and is hardly noticeable. Hell, people who send crash logs, surely they'd be able to tell from that (again, assuming we're on PSN with our CFW someday)..I guess it's paranoia, but really, we've seen what extreme and utterly insane steps sony will take..this is a huge helping hand. |
It's absolute horse sh!t.
@japsander said it best. It's my device once I buy it, I'll do what I want to it. |

if you do something "illegal" then its your responsibility to not get caught. |
The more *Illegal* is more *interesting* gets.
Try to not go along with the sheep and fell in the same trapt all over again. If you use like @japsander said PSN (private service/corporation) breaking the TOS or user agreement you get ****ed and you have no chance to cry or scream over it. Now if you pay for the service and you paid some subscription and you have some games you are allowed to ***** and scream about how ****ed up they are. Also i always was a firm believer that what i bought is mine because i paid for it, psychically the device is mine = Phone, Tablet, etc. But if i want to run “unauthorized” content, the fun part of having some product like this, i know im voiding the warranty and if the product fails = screwed. So in the end the device is mine but if i **** up with the content (Jailbraking it, Running not authorized apps, etc) in it is no longer mine. It's theirs. See? that when DMCA kicks in, today its' all about content and if that content *violates* some *rule* = screwed. Any device manufactured today is NOT built to last, has a certain *life-span* with nice and most idiotic warranty that mess up with the end user. If someone here tells me that owns a tablet/Phone that did not have a SINGLE problem and still works i give him/her a silver medal OVER A YEAR after being bought. That's how business work, you get a ****ty product. You *own* it but then you can't do **** without not paying serious consequences or breaking the damn thing because that device was built to be mediocre to finally end in a trash can, then the useful parts of that broken Phone/tablet that you no longer *own* are used to repair another or make another device that you will buy as *brand-new* and vicious circle never ends. |
my devices always work well even after a couple of years :)
i can haz silver medal nao plz kthx? |
