UGH....Bricked CECHH01 please help!
 

Hey guys I need some help. I took off work today for my B-day. I was hopping to have a lazy day playing some games. No luck with that so far. I have looked around and can get this fixed. I will do my best to give as much info as I can.


Model-CECHH01
New drive-Toshiba MQ01ABC/150
Old drive- Hitachi HTS541640J9SA0(B)
Current FW- Rogero 4.30 v1.0 CFW

Other PS3s I have
1 CBEH1000 w/ 4.21ofw
2 CBEH1000 w/ 4.10ofw
3 CBEH1000 w/ 4.30ofw


Ok so I went out and got a Toshiba Portable 1.5TB HHD. So I made a back-up of my hard dive on a Backup hard drive via usb. I formated the new drive to FAT32 then installed it in the PS3. I had 3.41ofw when I got the PS3 and had upgraded to Rogero 4.30v1.0. I was following Rogero's instructions that were posted to use downgrade with 4.21 to 3.55 (right USB port) When I turned the PS3 on it Didn't get the splash screen. The Ps3 said I needed to install 4.30 and hit start and select. So I put the UPDATE.PUP in the flash and ran. Well started the install. I was cooking some food. So I went to the kitchen and when I came back I had just a blue screen. I turned it back up and It wasn't loading. I got it to the recovery screen and then tried to install again. When I did this we had a power outage (unlucky as hell). So when the power came back on I tried to do it again. Now the PS3 wont turn on. It starts to load and get Green to yellow-Red at the same time (I think 3 beeps also). I can get it to kinda go to restore menu (using the sound of the beeps) but no picture just my TV's blue screen. I am guessing it's just not outputting the Video. Must be freezing up at boot. May be a problem with the boot or with some kinda core files.

I am still a bit new. I don't have a flasher or anything like that Just a flash drive. Can someone help me please. I even tried to use a PSP to get into service mode but that isn't working. I don't even think the USB is reading anymore or I can get the controller the pair. Hope to get this up and going so my B-day isn't a bust. Already spent 3 days working on this.

you use some flasher on that like E3 or progskeet???

No I was already on CFW. I was just doing a HHD replace. Didn't think that would be any problem just swaping out. Thought I should be able to just swap out and then use the back-up to install data from backup. The post said just to back -up and put the new HDD in and then use the downgrade PUP. I did but then it just went to the blue screen.

@Bigworm1922 , did you tried to put your old hdd back in?

if i'm correct a part of the firmware is stored on the hdd, but since you had a power outage i'm affraid your flash is corrupt.

yes that true its possible flash been corrupted, i think the best way now is using a flasher. you have your flash backedup??

i'm also a bit confused now, you say you had 4.31ofw when you got the ps3, and have no hardware flasher, how did you downgrade, because to my knowledge you still need a hardware flasher to go to 3.55

I'm sorry I must have typed to fast. I said I had 4.31ofw but I mixed up the numbers. I got it on CL with 3.41ofw. I went to 3.55ofw. Then to 3.55 Kmeaw. Updated to Rogero 4.21cfw. A few days later to Rogero 4.30 v1.0 CFW. I have been on that since it came out. Everything was good but just needed to upgrade the HHD. Only had 40GB. Didn't want to have to to it again so I went big to 1.5TB this time. Didn't think it would be a problem just to upgrade the HHD. Normally I just put the HHD in and the main screen comes up and I format it. Now I guess I should have went back to 3.55ofw. Guess I just got lazy (I know stupid).

No I don't have a hardware flasher. I was wanting to get one but was still looking into what would be be the best one for me. I would like to get one I can use to flash other PS3's I have also. A few friends also wanted to get thier ps3 downgraded.

If it helps I guess I forgot to say I have a few other PS3's but lowest FW is 4.xx something.

Yes I did try that and still nothing. I still have the old HHD and also a Backup HDD with the backup on it. That is if nothing had been corrupted on the disk by putting it back in the PS3

i guess since you dont have a backup of the flash then there's not much you can do to recover it.

i also have a 40GB ps3, but i rather use a external hdd then try to put a new one in....lol, if it aint broken don't fix it right?

Is there a way to get it off the backup or from the old HHD? I don't wanwith ti. t to put it in my Computer. I did that one time when I got YLOD on my old system not knowing it would keep me from using it again and killing all data on it. Also no way to get it into service mode? I know I'm A bone head for messing with it. Can a hardware flasher fix it still?

to be honost i'm also a noob when it goes to flashing using hardware, so i'm not 100% sure, but since the experienced people just don't reply you'll have to do with me. :(
