Cobra USB says it's possible to, and there's solo emulator for CFW PS3s.

Cobra also features PSP games are compatible.

How great do the PS2/PSP games run on PS3 Slim?

No, there is a way to do it from FSM, but none of the options are worth it, not even cobra.

The non-backwards compatible consoles will have horrible compatibility, perhaps even up to the point of almost nothing being playable at all.
