possible to spoof game update pkg on OFW?
 

you know when on OFW, you go on a game and PSN requests you to download a game update for it.

i'm wondering if it's possible to spoof the URL of the game update via wireshark or w/e and replace it with yours? same game update but modified eboot or data files.

i don't accept online cheating, but this would be a great way for people to have freedom on thier OFW ps3s and play with single player mods...

well if your on psn on 421 cfw why not just accept the update? or if you choose dl the update via computer and unpkg it and spoof the param.sfo i dont know if that will work but you could give it a try.

CFW, can do, but I'm talking about OFW. I'm having a hard time trying to find the URL of a game update in Wireshark during the update process. Am I blind but are all PSN packets really encrypted?

oops sorry i missed that. dont know if a data tranfer would work after you did it on cfw. no way to access anything on ofw.

Elite Mossy's Patch Blocker for PS3 will block the game updates.

You just run the app on your PC, and put in your PS3's ip address. Very easy to use.

Thanks but I don't want to block game updates. What I want to do is replacing a game update with another one (same update but with modified eboot or data files).

Oh, I see. I think the only way to do that is, modify and install it on CFW, then Data Transfer to OFW.

The Data Transfer Utility under System Settings, on the PS3.

Hmm, if it can transfer Game Data, then it should work I think. Thanks a lot :) I cannot test it now because I'm still waiting for my 3rd PS3 to arrive...
