720p issue
 

I recently bought new TV.
when ever check while paying game its 720p
but in XMB its full 1080p .
Display setting is set to 1080p in PS3 and my tv support 1080p
Games I have checked are Uncharted 3 , Max Payne 3 , Need for speed most wanted, little big palnet 2
How can i make this games to render 1080p ?

I dont think those games are coded in 1080p

Because the games are not made to run in 1080p only 720p. The ps3 supports many resolutions. Most ps3 games are 720p as theres less pixels to move around and hence the games are faster.

1080p at 60 fps per second will not happen till the xbox 3, etc.

There is no game that runs 1080p. The most you would get is an upscaled 720p game but not true 1080p. 720p is the norm for console gaming. When the next xbox and playstation hit, we should expect 1080p at 60 fps.

If you want true Hidef 1080p gaming, get a PC. \m/

Yeah but running a pc game at 1080p would look crap. I prefer 1600x ..... on pc games. Way higher than a tvs hires mode.

The ps3 supports many resolutions.

But in the end, it is the GAME that sets the resolution.

Actually, GT5 runs 1080p 60 FPS ;).

Sadly this game suffered from quantity over quality.

And yeah, while the PS3 Dashboard is at 1080p the majority of games are in 720p. Watch Blu-rays in 1080p for 1080p experience, if you want.

Edit: Wii U sometime in the future should have 1080p games instead of 720p.
