What is REX.....You serious??

If you are asking a question like that then I don't think you should be messing around with a ps3.

REX is just rebug name for cfw...

I think REX is a play on words with the Latin for "KING", and the whole CEX/DEX thing.

King of CFW's.

As for ReactPSN: I dont use it, sorry.

REX is just rebugs firmware type. It's niether CEX nor DEX it's a hybrid firmware. thats why they dubbed it REX. It can indeed be installed on either a CEX machine on 3.55 or a DEX convert. May work on real DEV units but I don't have one and dont care to find out. Either way yes it's safe to use on your PS3 but I wouldn't recomend it for anyone but the more advanced CFW users.

ReactPSN is simple to use if you have the edat or rif/rap files for your title. simply place the edats and what not into the exdata folder on your external HDD thewn plug it into the right most port (same one used for the FSM and JB dongles. on your PS3 creat a user and name it aa then log into your user acount and run react PSN it will activate the content. as for its other functions there is plenty of documents explaing how to use them but I personally dont use any other feature of it such as the backup etc.

Aside from that being completely incorrect, people who give answers like this should be banned and/or be thrown out a window :)

The difference between REX and standard editions is a little confusing for those new to CFW but as far as I understand it, CEX is standard firmware, DEX is debug/developer firmware and REX is Rebug's hybrid allowing developers to debug their software but then test it on standard version without having to completely change firmwares. Standard Rebug is for end-users.

Well thx for opening up a month old thread, I'm sure that's going to be helpful to people who don't give a shyt.

As for being banned, well ban me. Just because I missed the bit about it being a hybrid....better shoot me instead.
What an arse....

From what I understand REX is signed with CEX keys, but has some custom REBUG features.
