Is it a good idea to move from FAT32 to NTFS?
I am on Rogero 4.30 v2.03 and latest multiMAN.
I have a 2TB HDD with many split games I bought a new 2TB HDD and formatted it in NTFS. 1. Is there any program which can detect and rejoin split files? Ie so I can copy everything at once? 2. Whats the best way to make the transfer? 3. Will everything work perfectly ie games, installing .PKG files etc? 4. Have you/will you also switch to NTFS ie to avoid needing to copy 5-30GB games to internal each time you want to play? thank you! |
Wii/wiiU - can read fat32 and ntfs
Ps3 - fat32 only You can store backups on your ntfs all u want, but when you try loading it from mm the ps3 back at xmb wont detect the game. The ps3 only recognize fat32 Hope this helped answer your question ^_^ @bubbleboy ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Yea there is a file rejoiner out there I forget what its called but one does exist |
You can use DOS to join the files, somethink like:
copy file1.xxx +file2.xxx +file3.xxx somename.someextension I think opensplit and hjsplit can also be used to join the files |

Have the best of both worlds. Create a FAT32 partition within your NTFS harddrive. PS3 detects that with no issues, and lets you run games right off the fat32 partition, instead of having to install it onto the internal hd.
That's what I'm doing right now, and it's working great |
