Half Dual Boot 4.31OFW
Hello, I'm new to this and I have some questions. I was thinking of doing the fast dual boot but then I realized it would be too hard given that I don't have much experience with soldering. So I guess I'll have to settle for the half dual boot.
My PS3 is CECHH, motherboard is DIA-001, original firmware version is 1.xx. Current installed firmware is 4.25 OFW. I have E3 flasher limited edition and E3 card reader. 1. I want to be able to play backups and play online on PSN (so 4.31 OFW). Hence the need for dual booting. Is such a thing possible? 2. Most tutorials I read have upgrading the OFW as a first step (before installing the e3 flasher). Since my ps3 has 4.25 OFW and I need 4.31 OFW to play online, is it ok if I update the OFW after having installed the e3 flasher? I'm asking this because my PS3 is already disassembled. 3. How slow is half dual booting? Would you recommend it or does it run the risk of bricking the PS3 because of having to upgrade/downgrade everytime I want to switch? Thank you very much |
OK, I have managed to install the e3 flasher, and my dumps seem valid (still awaiting confirmation). I am on 4.31 OFW.
Tomorrow I will try to downgrade and install a CFW. I still want to have a half dual boot setup. Right now I have 2 HDDS, the two of em with 4.31 OFW. I'm looking for guidance on how to achieve this with as low chance of bricking as possible. I've been doing alot of reading to try to figure this out, one post that attracted my attention is this one: Quote:
