Re-ball is the effective method to fix your PS3.

Which thermal paste have you applied onto the chips ?

I reflow them in the oven at 400f for 10 mins and use no clean flux and Arctic Silver thermal paste.

Best method by far because you heat the full board up evenly and not in spots liek blasting with a heatgun.

This is your best best and I have reflowed 3 PS3's with this method but make SURE you buy some no clean flux.

Also I always take 2 sheets of aluminum foil and wrap the board front and back shiny side facing outward and cut 2 perfectly square holes in it for the processors to get the most heat.

Make sure you let the system cool down for 30 mins before you move it.

that is still bad . you need a reflow machine.

Lots of people reflow in ovens, its an old tried and true method. PC enthusiasts have done this since forever.

Also, reflow stations can cost a pretty penny.

Wow. Well sorry but I have done this 3 times and none have ylod on me again.

Guess you didn't know that motherboard manufactures heat up motherboards in the manufacturing process, or that you can go out and buy professional reflow ovens?
