WTF? When did the Wii drop Gamecube compatibility?
 

So my cousin got a Wii for Christmas and I had to set it up for her and I noticed there wasn't any gamecube controller ports anymore. I'm assuming it doesn't detect the games either, when did Nintendo drop the Wii's backwards compatibility???

If she got the new new model, it isn't very compatible with anything.

How so? Like what else won't it play?

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm guessing you are talking about that red "mini" wii that doesn't even have online functionality. No it's not that one. Though I do want to get one of those and never open it and sell it for redonkulous amounts on ebay a few years down the road as I'm sure it will be a collectors items since who the f*ck would want it!?

It doesnt have stuff like internet access, so no online and no download Wii store games.

BC was dropped last year with the roll out of the new look Wii that lays flat instead of sitting upright. Pretty crap, huh.

Yeah, not a big deal for her as I'm sure all she will get is the Just Dance games... Though I'm not gonna lie the completely stripped down red one that's Canada exclusive would be a pretty sweet collectors item. I think it will be the next GBA micro (which I picked up 2 of them at my local wal-mart when they marked those down to $20!)

A better question poses itself, is there a price difference between the 2 or are you just getting screwed on the horizontal/we didn't want to include the plastic stand model?
