Upgrade Help... Pleaaaaaase
 

Good morning everyone ... I bought this xmas a used PS3 320 GB with CFW 3.41 (with Backup Manager installed) and WonderBook apart for my daughter but i receive a message asking for a FW 4.25 or higher. I wonder the best way to upgrade to a FW that allows copies to paly wonderbook and at the same time play copy games. If someone can help, I would like also to know the best way to transfer other games to the PS3 ...
I read some tutorials (they are so many) but i have a serious doubt - the current firmware is CFW 3.41 but the previous owner downgraded it to use the Backup manager and i don`t know what was original FW. If i upgrade to OFW 3.55 is there any chance to brick the PS3?

Make sure you qa flag if it has been downgraded before. You can play 4.25 games on both Rex and rogero cfw. Check my SIG for a tutorial and follow it to the tee. After upgrading the cfw you should be good to go.

Just do the turtual of rogero and skip nothing.

1. Download QA Toggle pkg here
2. Copy the file to the root of your USB or external HD
3. Insert your USB/External HD to your PS3
4. On your PS3, go to “Install package Files” and install the QA Toggle PKG
5. Once installed, run the “Rebug Toggle QA” on your PS3, (The screen will go Black and you will hear 2 or 3 Beeps and when finished it will go back to the PS3′s XMB, and if error comes up, just repeat this step.)
6. Go to “Network Settings” (do not open it) then all at the same time, press the following key combo : L1 + L2 + L3 (press left stick) + R1 + R2 + dpad_down (its hard you might want to get an extra hand for this)
7. If the QA Flag was done correctly, you will see Edy Viewer, Debug Settings, and Install Package Files.

Install Package Files doesn`t appear
 

I made all that you mentioned but i don`t have the option to "install package files". The file is on the root of the USB PEN and i already search on youtube where the option should appear but i have nothing like that... What can i be doing wrong?

Problem solved... it was my mistake as i had installed OFW 3.55 and not CFW 3.55

This is why we say read and follow instructions to the tee. You were lucky you had 3.55 installed, if you had 3.60 you would have been screwed.

But believe me that problem is the huge amount of posts and tutorials there are... To someone who doesn`t know the PS3 it is not easier.. I have done a lot on Wii`s but i didn`t knew the PS3. I was reading posts for about 2 days...
