60Gb phat not taking any firmware! log file included
I have a 60Gb phat console which is refusing to take an update of any firmware version at all. it is asking for 3.15 or above. so far i have tried several different things including different HDDs, different lasers, all other interchangeable components and cables. a downgrade man (mushymods) changed the NAND chips and tried updating from FSM with same results. here is the log.
Lv2Diag version JaiCraB.NoBDv1 PackageName = /dev_usb000/PS3UPDAT.PUP settle polling interval success vflash is disabled... boot from nand flash... delete region failure(error = 0x8001000c) delete storage region for Flash failure. but it is not fatal error(0x8001000c). creating flash regions... create storage region: get device info device id = 0x100000000000001 failure(error = 0x80010002) create_region() failure = 0x80010002 create storage region for Flash failure setup_storage_regions() failure manufacturing updating FAILURE(0x8002f0e0) Total Elapsed time = 940 msec any ideas what the problem is? |

firmware should install fine with or without lasers.... hope someone here can help you out :) |
Looks to me like you've completely mixed and mashed everything up.
The PS3 firmware must match the original optical drive (unless that firmware is hacked of course) and the HDD serial # (I think?). So if I were you (and IF you can) start by putting the PS3 back together as it was with it's ORIGINAL optical drive, HDD and most importantly NAND chips. Just an idea to get you started on potentially the right track, but TBH heaven knows what is going on there. Andy |
Not sure if it will help or not, but using jaicrab lv2diag file is not recommended, try using the proper one and see if it works.

ok i wrote the original post in a bit of a hurry, so just to clarify, i have not mixed up any components. the BluRay drive main board has been kept with the console, i just swapped the workings and laser in case the fault was with those. all the other components that i swapped were from another CECHC model. the NAND chips were first dumped before removal, and the replacements were flashed with the patched dumps. the console is now back to its original parts, and the error is still the same. the firmware update fails on 4%. The error code at the end of the log is listed in ps3 devwiki as being 'HDD not found or unplugged'... i have got a theory as to where the problem is, i will post again once i have tried it! i have found two posts on this problem (one in German and one in French), but neither was resolved. i am pretty sure it is a particular component near the southbridge that is to blame! i was just hoping somebody would have seen the error before on here and know for sure how to cure it... thanks anyway guys. to be continued...
