PS3 Freeze or BUG ?
 

Hey guys, I have a little problem.
Always my PS3 is freezing when I am at ''What's New'' Category (in XMB).
What Can I do because it's a little bit annoying because when I turn my PS3 on and don't move fast the icon from ''What's new'' after scrolling 3-4 seconds it FREEZE TOTAL and i must restart.
Hod do i fix this ??

'What's New' icon will not cause freezing. Your PS3 is going to YLOD very soon i think. If you can scroll across to 'System Settings' before freezing, then scroll down to 'Turn Off What's New'. Do that and see what happens. I bet it still freezes.

Sorry but your PS3 is going to need repaired soon. Best advice is find someone in your area/country that can reball the console for you. Your freezing issue is common in older machines, just google for YLOD.

I have tryed a long time a go. I was going to System Settings - What's New Icon and selected OFF and no freeze but the icon still there no dissapear.
And about freeze, my ps3 freeze only when i Use bad backups or bad eboot.
So what can it be ?? The ps3 has been protected, i have some legs that make the ps3 stay up so good ventilatio. It can really be YLOD ?
So random freeze only in What's New Icon, in rest no problems at all just like i said only on bad backups or eboot fix when it freezes all the time or black screen.

You could go to the Recovery menu and Do some of the options and see if they help.

I suggest Backup your Data.
Go to recovery First and chose each option, and see if it helps
if not Format the Hard disk on a PC, then put it back.
it will ask you to install FW, chose 3.55 and see if that helps 2

I tryed ... I awlays restore system rebuild data base after a game freeze/don't work and i must turn my ps3 off.
So what can it be ??

CAN IT BE THE YLOD ? I can't remember exactly but I think a month or 2 ago was not freezing (dont know exaclty or if it was ori is just a lie)

What firmware are you on? It could just be a bad flash of the firmware. If you try what @tjhooker73 mentioned and it does not help, try reflashing your firmware. Or changing it depending what firmware you are on.

I'm on 3.55 KMEAW should I update to Rogero v2.03 (directly) ?
Will the update erase all my HDD Data ?
I just wanna now if it is a software problem/bad flashin or a YLOD step :( ?

I would run qa toggle and make sure it worked and then install latest rogero via xmb you will lose nothing.

What is that QA Toggle ?? Just install it or open it or something ??
And it is Safe to install it form KMEAW?
