Each person/parents educates in a different way, even if it seems wrong to others. If the parents want to create a rule to turn off the internet at 10 pm, it is their right (your home, their rules).
Nothing justifies the act of drugging parents, mainly because they are not trained to deal with drugs (I'm talking about dosage, intolerance, allergic reactions and anaphylactic shock). In my opinion, what they did was extremely dangerous and irresponsible, and they were lucky to face the consequences of that before becoming adults.
