BOOTLDR address missing

I got my E3 in the mail today. I am using this tutorial to downgrade from 4.21 OFW.

http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...785#post387785

I'm at the part of the E3 instructions where it says:

BOOTLDR is at 00FC0002 & 00FC0012

CECH-20xx (DYN-001 boards) should have the value
2F 3B at 00FC0002 & 2F 3B at 00FC0012 “OR”
2F 13 at 00FC0002 & 2F 13 at 00FC0012 (this is what’s shown in the picture)

Problem is, the address 00FC0002 and 00FC0012 are missing from my extracted dump.

In fact, the last line in my e3flasher.log is this:
write 0:bkpps3.bin at 0x007F8000 ... OK.
Backup PS3 BIOS OK.

So is my dump bad because it's missing 00FC0002? I also noticed that when I extract to the swap that the BOOTLOADER_0 file is 0 bytes instead of 190 KB like his photo.... Everything else has checked out just fine up until this last part.

Try to extract your dump using Flowrebuilder, if it shows any error then your dump is not valid.

If your bootloader file is 0 KB, then I think your dump is not valid. It should be between 190,189 & 187.

Thanks. The dump was extracted fine with flowrebuilder, but the addresses are missing. I just realized I was using an old E3 firmware (10/2011) and there's a newer one in the instructions which, unpacked, has a created date of 9/2012. I've updated the firmware on the E3 and am taking a 4th dump now to see if this one reads everything.

Will let you know.

UPDATE: Well, what do you know......

write 0:bkpps3.bin at 0x00FF8000 ... OK.
Backup PS3 BIOS OK.

That looks much more promising. Going to make 2 more and then extract the dumps and recheck.

Use some HEX and check for the magic header. Keep using flowrebuilder.

Report back.

If bootlooder is 0kb, the dump is bad.

True. I didn't want to burst Op's bubble.

or you can send your dump Here after you check it by your self to make sure.
updating the E3 Flasher with update later than 28.10.2011 will make it only used for your Own ps3 and can not be used on any other ps3 :)

Thanks all. I have checked the dumps myself and sent them in for validation. The updated E3 firmware seemed to work a lot better - as my dump almost doubled in size (from 8MB to 16MB). I'm on what I believe is a CECH-20xx (DYN-001) with 2.76 from factory that has a samsung NOR chip.

The dumps looked legit to me from what I could tell. Just waiting on my 2nd opinion now.

Also, I just realized the method I'm following is not recommended. I had been following this guide: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php...785#post387785 but I see that it's not recommended here: http://www.ps3devwiki.com/wiki/Valid...3E10_bricks.29

So my question is, what guide SHOULD I follow for the E3 Flasher?

@playerkp420 's tutorial or @baileyscream 's tutorial

Thanks.

Just flashed the system with the original firmware and the downgrade.bin per the bailey's guide.

Here's the output of the log file:

write PS3 BIOS at 0x00EB8000 ... OK.
Program Nor OK.

Does that seem like it's enough bytes? I'd like to get a confirmation before I proceed with the downgrade dongle.

EDIT: It seems it's ok. I'm now at the "connect the controller using a USB cable, and then press the PS button"

I seem to be having trouble with my Factory Service dongle. It's an E3 Card Reader AVR I used to use for the 3.41 (or was it 3.55?) dual boot back in the day.

It just flashes red and never goes blue to shut off the PS3. Was there an update for this firmware I missed in the notes somewhere?

EDIT 2: Got my dongle working. We're on 3.55 Rogero spoofed to 4.11! But I'm one of the unlucky ones who has to Remary the BluRay Drive before I can finish the QA process and dehash.
