2xPS3 Gives weird Colors on TV
Hi;
here the thing, i have two PS3s with the following issue: one of them works for 30 mins after that it freeze with weird color stripes on the TV the other is the same but after 10 -15 mins. i tried to Reflow them with a heat Gun (i know it is bad) but this is what i have got in my hand (My Aoyua 968 is on the way). the first worked for 2 days then it returned to the same issue. the second i Reflowed it, it works now but when ever i move the unit it is freeze again with same weird stripes on the TV, and sometimes it works for 2 hours and freeze, the second one is jail-broken so i enabled the Temperature to see how much it goes never more the 58 c for both CPU and GPU. is there anything i can look for here any body and @Mr.Dutch i know you have some hardware skills |
it's probably still a bad contact, did you tried something to put more pressure on the heatsinks? ;)

i'll put some coins on the GPU, and report back |
@3absiso
have you got any pictures?
|
GPU needs reballing, you most likely screwed the solder balls even more by reflowing with a heatgun.

but you are right and i know the heat gun can make things worse, but this is what i have in my hand till now. ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Quote:

@Mr.Dutch
it seems i screwed things up; i put pressure on the CPU rather the GPU. Lame i know. now when i press the Power button it turns for 1-2 seconds then turned off with no red light on the power button. the red light appears again when i press the Power button again. do you think the CPU is fried or something? also there are no scratches here or there, oh my god. for the past two days i was knowing something bad is going to happen with me. any help here, and please without the sercasim. |

there are some threads about putting washers ect. on the ps3 for more pressure, but maybe it can be too much? btw, is it a 25xx model? can the cpu be fried in the first place if you put more pressure on it? :dontknow: the good news, you allready had problem with the ps3, it's far more worse if you mess up a good ps3... you know my knowledge is still limited about the ps3. ;) |

after a nice fit + the extra pressure and it must be a bit.. the PS3 here atleast RLOD'd again ofcourse..but with the red light led on like usual |
@Mr.Dutch
@haz367 thanx for helping but guess what, i prepared my Preheater Puhui T-8280 with Amtech LF-4300-TF Flux and reflowed the CPU, with the Heat gun, but semulated a Rework station Profile. and guess what the PS3 came to life but black screen. so i repeated the same procecess to the GPU, and the PS3 is working perfectly. Whoooooooooooooooot? ;) sorry but excited |
