the PS3 does it already itself...? when its hot fans are loud when its warm/cool fans are nearly unhearable

No the fans are nearly unbearable ever. And the temperature of cpu in xmb is 70 Celsius

Time to change the thermal paste, use good one AS5. and see if this help

when your fan is always running loud then i'd suggest to check the PS3 and not the fan-controllers....
maybe full of dust and like already said use NEW thermal paste(you have to scratch the old dryed one off)

i've clean my ps3 in every place. i love it and it works fine since 2007 :love:
when i start my ps3 temperature ps3 is 50° but in 5 minutes go up to 75°-80° so i want to fix definetly this problem to stay calm :D

yeah thats definitly too high
does your ps3 have ennough briefing space
sony recommends at least 5 inch to every side
and also lifting the PS3 a few centimeters up can help (mine stands on 2 wood blocks and its pretty quit)
