[UPDATE] PS3 PUP Check+ [MD5 verify] By DEFAULTDNB

Ok so I got bored again and wanted to learn more about MD5 hashes and incorporate it into my own coding, so I came up with a quick tool, which can verify the MD5 of over 350+ known MFW/CFW/CEX/DEX/SEX PS3 update files.

About:
I wanted to make this noob friendly, so its easy to pick up and use with no knowledge of anything other than clicking 1 button.

Never get scammed and by downloading and installing a fake update again!

All you need to do is open the app and select MD5 check tool, click "Select File" point it to a pup file and bingo (within 4-8 seconds) you get your MD5 result and whether or not it matches the known database, if it's fake, or if its unknown (if new CFW comes out it will state unknown and to google the MD5 it generates so you can double check the authenticity of the PUP).

As of PPC+ V2.2.0 I have added my DCT date check tool for those who want to check their datecodes to figure out if their PS3 is hackable, and what they can do with it. It includes links to tutorials and helpful information as well as links to the PS3HAX buy/sell/trade section if you find that your PS3 is not hackable

As I am a noob coder there may be a few bugs, so please pm me if you find any and I will fix and update asap. This app (like my others) are flash based so they can potentially be made into web apps (no exe) so dont be surprised if it asks you to update your players :)
(I also want to point out this took me only 4 hrs learn about MD5 and to build it to V1)

Credits:
Thanks to @aldostools for the extensive MD5 list on his site http://aldostools.org/temp/md5.txt
Props to @superfurry

Now that my DCT: date code check tool has been integrated to PPC+ V2.2.0, WMPDT355? is out of date and has been discontinued: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?p=417124

I hope so.

I get sick of people PMing me saying they installed a "CFW PUP" now they are stuck on 4.XX Kiosk/OFW and they didnt have a disc in the drive.... most people dont bother MD5 verifying files :(

Hopefully this helps!

I guess thats pretty cool, would be more useful to get the MD5 of the trvk/coreos contents.

Can a pup be modified (coreOS) and still maintain the same MD5?

Absolutely not. That's the whole point of an MD5. 1 byte change = new MD5.

What I am referring to is the MD5 of the CoreOS & Trvk which is inside the update. When dumping the flash of the PS3 these sections stay the same.

Validate the MD5 of the CoreOS & Trvk from the pup = validating large sections of the flash. Which is a great thing.

While this has been done (by myself and others) it needs more updates, both OFW and MFW. So, if you could be a doll and fetch all of those files from within each update, that'd be greaaaaaaaat.

:)

 yeah right

I'm keeping it simple: *.PUP/*.pup MD5 check for beginners.
