no ps button (playstation button).
Long story short.
I bought a second hand PS3. With no controller, the PSN store didn't work and i had a black screen so i restored the ps3 to it's original state. And then....And then... It asked me to insert my controller and press the PS button. Ive google and searched all over the internet (my friends with PS3's are living kinda far away so just lending one won't really help). So, How do i finish the PS3 startup sequence without a Controller to 120 USD. I tried using my USB keyboard but it would not work.(and a USB dance bad, several different mouses). But nothing works i also searched for physical USB to PS button mods. PS, don't know if this is the correct sub-forum was not sure what it would go under. does anyone know of a way to get this to startup? |
Yes, buy a controller ;)

Well, Does anyone know how to build a PS button only controller with a usb cable.
Just simple USB connection wich sends the PS button signal. |

Even if there was a "simple USB connection which sends the ps button signal" and you restored your machine like you want to, what next? You will need a control afterwards anyway if you wanted to do anything on the ps3. Im sorry if Im sounding blunt but SURELY you must know that what you are asking is absolutely, positively retarded. Buy a control and stop being cheap. |
Retarded?, Try to keep it civil thanks.
If you _read_ my post you will notice i have a keyboard,and mouse. The only thing i need is a PS button, Being on a cheap controller og something similar. I hardly think not wanting to spend 60-70$ for a controller is retarded(and yes that is what they cost where i live). And no im currently studying so that is alot of money for me. |
@Coldfusionstorm
hey there was a program to spoof a ps3 wireless controller... you just need a bluetooth dongle.... search for ps3 controller pc spoofer or whatever... and if a remember right it was multi platform (or just linux idk) then maybe you can send the ps button signal...
link: http://hackaday.com/2011/05/25/ps3-c...ps-and-bounds/ At least in the screenshot there is a PS label (And this is only a stupid question in the minds of small brained people) |
Just walk down the street where you live, knock a few doors... 1 in 3 houses prolly has a PS3 and I'm sure one of them will lend you a controlle.
Sent from my mind 5 using Psychokinesis 2. |

His question was: "Does anyone know how to build a simple USB connection wich sends the PS button signal" If Im small minded for thinking the above question is retarded, then be so kind as to prove me wrong and make such a device as a "simple USB connection which sends the ps button signal". Guess Im not the only small minded one here then hey:hello: @Coldfusionstorm if you decide to go ahead with the ps3 keyboard spoof, you will still need to get a control pad as very few games work well with this keyboard method. Unless all you want to do with your ps3 is watch movies etc, then I would understand. I know someone who did this method long ago (its nothing new) and most games feel crap. Console games are designed to be played on a control, unless, like I said, all you need to do is watch movies:) |
My worded question was that yes, But the real question was "how can i get a ps button signal", Wich both r07f1 charlie666 understood. and answered :) and thanks r07f1, that was exactly something like that i was looking for in the first place but couldnt find :D
