Want to go online but not on PSN
I want to be able to hook my PS3 to the internet, but I don't want to get the console online to the playstation network (I don't want to play online, just be able to download updates to multiman and stuff).
I've never used a ps3 so I don't know what things cause risk and what don't. Obviously I should turn off automatic system updates. What else? And are there any packages that have a surefire way to block going on psn or updating by accident online or through a disk? |
You should turn off automatic updated
@elunesgrace
.
You can download multiman as other many things over here, etc. You don't need an imperative internet connection for what you are looking for. Setup some FTP to your PS3 if you want to go CFW or via private network and you are done. |
^But is it ok if I do have an internet connection?
|
Yes, just don't sign into psn.

Id like to have the convenience of updating multiman and downloading covers and whatnot without having to do it manually from my computer every time. So if I could get that without any risk I'd gladly do it. But if I have to go through the playstation servers to even access a multiman update or game covers, then that's another thing. |
