Freezing on 3 different CFW
Been having some issues with my newly flashed PS3.
The ps3 I got was a demo mode ps3, I removed the demo mode, downgraded to 3.55 and flashed Regero 4.30. I've installed around 5 pkg files (PSN Games) and their .rap files. The games play fine for about 10 minutes. After that the screen freezes and I can't do anything except force reboot the system. This even happens when I leave multiman running idle for a few minutes. It freezes and I'm forced to do a reboot. All my stuff is performed on my internal 500gb HDD. Anyone know why this issue would occur? **Update** I've tested it now on three different CFW (Regero, Rebug, and Kmeaw 3.55) all are performing the same way. The game plays for 5~10 minutes then freezes. PS3 is CECH-2001A with DYN-001. |
Try another CFW and if the problem does not go.
it is likely a hardware issue? |

Tried it on both Kmeaw 3.55 and the latest rebug.
Same issue, game will play fine for about 5 ~ 10 minutes then freezes. Nothing happens when PS button is pushed. Forced to reboot system by holding down the power button. What would cause such an issue? This console was a PS3 Slim Demo Console but I'm pretty sure I removed the demo aspect of it when I flashed it. Any way to figure out why this is happening? Because so far it's happening on three different CFW. Again, everything is happening on my internal HDD. I'm not using any external devices. The HDD is WD5000BEKT 7200 RPM, 16 MB Cache. PS3 is CECH-2001A with DYN-001. |

did you changed the thermal Paste? enable the Temperature in Multiman and see how high it goes |
The problem is most likely the HDD. You should have gotten a 5400 RPM HDD.

sorry, but this is bs. i have a 3,5'' hdd 7200rpm externally with e3 esata station and it runs smoothly. no problems at all. i have made a connection with a sata cable and a esata converter to the internal connector of ps3
i would say if anything hdd related, it is some sort of energy saving feature edit if you think i am talking nonsense, here is a picture from my hdd connection: Code:

since 7200 rpm can work but PS3 will not make advantage of the extra speed, i guess? |
