Stay on any version of CFW/MFW.

I dont get what he is trying to say, but ODE is not the only future.

CFW will receive updates, so people who take the time to hunt down and get a CFW enabled or jailbreakable PS3 will be fine, and have homebrew too :)

Not much of a point staying on 3.55 anymore. There's just more work to do to get your games working. Updating to a 4.xx firmware (Rogero or Rebug, or that Italian guys CFW) would be a good option, and you don't have to waste time patching games.

But maybe you like doing it so, my thoughts are null :)

I have to admit I was wrong to be so hellbent on 3.55, but at least being cautious meant side stepping all the early issues and waiting for the most stable version of the 4.30 CFW before updating blindly.

Updating to 4.30 CFW should be embraced, not shunned, it makes life so much easier.

I haven't looked back once.

I don't see the ODEs being the future. There are still plenty of users (like me), that love CFW for the homebrew. Not just to pirate games. Don't get me wrong I love to hang out with Jack Sparrow. But I couldn't live without the emulators and other great homebrew apps. ;)

Even if somebody offered to swap me my cfw ps3 for a brand new ps3 with every original game and every future original game I wouldn't do it... I love modding files and tinkering with different stuff on my cfw ps3....life would be dull just playing games 24/7 ... I love being a ps3 nerd (as my wife calls me) :)

I always thought your reluctance was quite reasonable. After a year without upgrades, it was hard to embrace the newer firmwares especially with all the bricks caused by the first Rogero 4.21.

But today is not practical (for the regular users) stay on 3.55. Virtually all games and almost all relevant homebrews works on 4.30 CFW without alterations/fixes.
