What most schools don't teach.Must watch
"Everyone should have the chance to learn to code in school. I'm proud to support code.org."__Mark Zuckerberg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?featur...&v=nKIu9yen5nc In the video Learn about a new "superpower" that isn't being taught in in 90% of US schools. and 100 percent for almost all other countries... Starring Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, will.i.am, Chris Bosh, Jack Dorsey, Tony Hsieh, Drew Houston, Gabe Newell, Ruchi Sanghvi, Elena Silenok, Vanessa Hurst, and Hadi Partovi. Directed by Lesley Chilcott. and the video perfectly fits with the thread posted by @hellsing9 which was "Reverse Engineering is no Rocket Science: KDSBest explains" |
I support this but sadly educational system here is worst than US.
If you want to learn to code at a young age, you can't because education won't allow that to happen they need that "money" to fill corrupt politicians pockets instead of give this new generation a hand on this. If you want to learn, you gotta learn alone. Trial/error always was my motto. It's not rocket science like @KDSBest explained if you try to understand patterns (among other things) and you are really interested in coding you have to read, try and learn (that's the best way i found). Schools they don't need us educated, they need us numb. But it's up to that boy or girl to get started if they are interesting in coding something. ;) nice one @LoverboySimer |
Here in Germany you can learn to code,
in higher classes it's even a subject :) But i have to read much more books and stuff, to understand everything. But i have time :D |
so far education belongs to the football team, and when i say that i mean the budget in the U.S. (in most places). Though i did get to go to a class where i learned networking. all the professor wanted us to do was type (plagerise) the book. i did learn how to sniff out failed network privileges.

Everybody should be learning coding. Hexadecimal and binary confusing people is just something that makes me roll my eyes. Need to teach some C, Python, or ASM. Anything would have been nice. |

Oh come on... Its a propaganda video for the site/program. Of corse it makes sense :D, doesnt mean it true.
You have a thing called math in school, that sole purpose for most people is to get your brain going. You get enough problem-solving from this. Its up to you what you do with this. Its the same with coding, knowing how to code wont make you smarter. But in time you will use the same concepts you use to solve code problem in real life, like splitting tasks to smaller ones and so on. And also there is a diference between knowing how to code and understanding programing concepts. Most schools(as far as I know) wil get you some basic coding knowledge, but that doesnt mean ****, you can learn this on your own pretty fast. Where schools(CS) kick in is delivering a broad specter of knowledge and serving it to you on a few-year program. Knowing why you did something, what goes on in the background and using math concepts with more complex problems, to make them simpler is what will help you in the long run. If you are into programing. If not, then well... you dont need to code :P If you wanna stay sharp, do math (not meth), solve puzzles, sodoku, learn a song and so on, it does count what you do with your time, just dont blame the schools. |
