Help , bricked with good dump !

I have a CECHJ console with DIA-002 mobo and 4.31 fw ( first i've seen of this kind ) and i tried to downgrade it . Dumped the NOR and checked it with the software from BwE , Anaria and Mysis all seemed ok so i went further , patched and flashed it
When it was about to finish the leds started blinking on the E3 Flasher , i stopped it and pressed the flashing button again . This time it went through all the way . When i turned it on afterwards i was expecting the " Please connect the controller " screen but instead i got No Signal / HDD / USB

I relooked at my dump and started worrying about some warnings in BwE's software that i didn't think were vital

Only warnings in BWE Validator were

I'm more concerned about the one in the asecure_loader / metldr area . Afaik , that's unique , un-rebuildable data . What is STD DEV ?
Atm , console does stay on and the NOR is flashing , would soldering the wire to the Tristate make any difference in the attempt of unbricking ?
Anyone has a dump of a CECHJ so i can compare with mine ?

What i tried so far

- flashed the patched backup with first switch up
- flashed the original backup with first switch up
- flahed e3_downgrade.bin with last switch up

What more could i try ?

- solder the wire to the NOR Tristate
- patch it with the 3 musketeers thingy ( that i don't know what is does and never used it )
- paste data with HXD from another CECHJ dump
- sell it for parts

If metldr is broken, there is no way to fix this.

This may be a stupid question, but did you patch and flash the correct dump?

In offset 000200 does it say FI.I or IFI?

arcadekidflo 03-07-2013 12:16 AM

It says FI.I

playerkp420 , have you encountered any dump that had this error in asecure_loader/metldr ? It seems weird that the metldr has the correct size but incorrect content statistics . The content statistics in metldr and bootldr are not mentioned in any validating guide that i know of .

your mtldr and bootldr size and header is correct,
regarding the warning @BwE should answer you about it.

As long as the 00's statistic is in the normal range, after patching, it should be ok. Did you check the patched dump, like the validator states?

I am not sure what Std Dev WARNING is. But I think if the size of metldr is correct, you should be good.

Did you make multiple dumps? And use file compare, under the analysis tab in HxD?

Most likely your clip is not secure anymore, and is not flashing correctly.

Too know if the clip is secure, flash the patched dump. Clear the sd card, and then make a backup dump. Use file compare and see if they are identical.

If they are not identical, reseat the clip and get it on correctly.

Just FYI I had a cechk with a similar warning as yours but line was in the lv0/bootldr I was hesitant to use the dumps but after asking someone on IRC about it I was told it was ok to flash and the console downgraded fine.

if you check my posts BWE explained what the sum and mean meant

If your ps3 does not start (gives you ylod etc) solder tristate and have flashfun switched up - otherwise continue:

1. Get your dump
2. Patch it with my patcher
3. Name it correctly
4. Put it on the microsd card
5. Turn the ps3 on
6. Attach the e3 clip and make sure its on PROPERLY the FIRST TIME.
7. Put the microsd card into the E3
8. All switches DOWN
9. Press START
10. Wait for it to finish (if it doesnt start or fails, apply pressure to clip OR reattach)
11. Turn off the ps3 from the rear and turn it back on.
12. Enter FSM (Dongle, Power/Eject etc)
13. If it accepts the FSM and turns off then get some beer and party.

you should have done several dumps before begining, and compare them with hxd. it happens that the metldr may have the same length and etc... but the values within change. i learned myself in the hard way too.

now you are to late. you can make many backups now but they all will be the same with the one you flashed.

is nothing you can do.
you can sell it for parts or purchase a new mobo (i think that is very difficult due to the fact that cechj are rare)
