I need to be enlightened...
Good day to everyone...
I am very new here, and if anyone can kindly help me with my question or atleast direct me to the right thread, I would really appreciate it. Anyway here it is: I have a fat ps3 with 80gb internal hd, when I looked at the system information in multiMAN, it says, multiMAN version 04.14.00 and my PS3 system Firmware is 4.30 [SC-36 Standard], but when I looked at the XMB menu the PS3 version is 4.31 I bought my PS3 this way, but I want to upgrade my hard disc to atleast a 500GB, and I really don't know what to do. I read in some forums that in cfw 4.30 it is as simple as swap and go, but on some it says I have to undergo installing OFWs then CFWs afterwards. How can I really do it? Please help. Thanks so much in advance! |
Its sounds to me like you are on Rogero 4.30 v2.05: does toolbox appear if you highlight app_home but dont click on it?
If it does you are on v2.05 and this is good, just swap to your new HDD (if it asks you to: reinstall 4.30 v2.05 after to complete the upgrade, but PHAT's might not ask you too,... I know SLIMs do) You can download Rogero 4.30 v2.05 from here: http://tortuga-cove.com/forums/viewt...p?f=127&t=4336 try the differnt mirros until one works. Verify the file with my tool from here: http://www.ps3hax.net/showthread.php?t=51288 Simples. EDIT: also afterwards update mM to 04.20.04 ;) |
do you mean /app_home/PS3_GAME/ ?
is it the one in the xmb menu under the game category? ( sorry, very noob, I know ) |

When you highlight it it should change after 2-3 seconds. |
it changed to the game I had inside the ps3, but when I removed the game disc, it doesn't change into anything when I highlighted it...what does this mean?
( just a thought, highlighting it means going to it with out doing anything after right?) ************* [ - Post Merged - ] ************* Quote:

I think that means you are on Rogero 4.30 v2.03 or lower, its easy to fix:
Download v2.05 from the link I posted > update to 2.05 from the XMB via "update from storage" by putting the 2.05 update on a usb stick as X:/PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP (making sure to remove any game discs before updating) > then swap to the new HDD > format it in the PS3 /and/ reinstall the CFW if it asks you to. |
