Just a couple of points. My opinion of course and they may be absolute bull poo lol.

The comment he made about the Xperia X10 can be taking as a direct statement that he has a personal vendetta against Sony.

As to the DMCA rules on the iPhone etc, the actual allowances made there have virtually nothing in comparison to the PS3 or any other games console for that matter (Yes, I've waded through a lot of it lol). A couple of direct quotes are as follows...

"Computer programs that enable wireless telephone handsets to execute software applications, where circumvention is accomplished for the sole purpose of enabling interoperability of such applications, when they have been lawfully obtained, with computer programs on the telephone handset.".... So we now have the ability to legally install anything we want to a device we purchased.

"Computer programs, in the form of firmware or software, that enable used wireless telephone handsets to connect to a wireless telecommunications network, when circumvention is initiated by the owner of the copy of the computer program solely in order to connect to a wireless telecommunications network and access to the network is authorized by the operator of the network".... We can unlock our phone for any network use.

Apple are still fighting the decision (see below), and trust me peeps, if gh loses against Sony, then Apple will also use his general attitude as a reason for him breaking the iPhone against him in their ongoing arguments to the DMCA Authorities.

"Current jailbreak technologies now in widespread use utilize unauthorized modifications to the copyrighted bootloader and operating system, resulting in the infringement of the copyrights in those programs, Apple told the U.S. Copyright Office"
