@fenix4o9: I've just installed a switch on one of my machines, what I did was splice a 3.3v cable onto the grey wire connected to the fan.
This tells the fan to run at full speed, when it's connected. I added a push button switch, so I press and hold it to speed up the fans (I wanted the option for when I'm playing late at night, so it's not too loud all the time).
So now, I can power up and play normally for hours, but if it's getting hot, then I give it a blast of full speed for a few seconds/minutes.
I haven't embedded the switch in the case just yet, it's hanging out through a slot because I'm not 100% which switch I'm gonna use or where to put it.
Excuse the messy wiring from playing about with BACKUP_MODE and DIAG_MODE etc..
FWIW, I initially ran it fom the 3.3v supply coming from the power supply, but it didn't seem all that stable. I also prefer not to drain power from somewhere that is relying on it, hence external power seemed safest.
