Well thats exactly what I was looking for. just some kind of opinion. I mean, I am a tinkerer and wouldnt mind modding it for some kind of gain...but if no one can vouch for increased cooling...there is no point.
Is there a significant difference having the console standing up or laying down?
currently. I have my PS3 set up under a custom made stand for my TV. It is laying on its side with plenty of open space near the side (the top if you thought about it standing up) and open in the rear...it is a little cramped on the top (relative to it being on its side) and it is not on carpet...should I reconsider location.
Yes, I am a bit bored otherwise I'd not bother...just feeling productive and looking for little things to improve...

and if you dont mind me asking KingKush...how do you know the cooling isnt worth it?
I ask only because It will help me feel confident when I relay the message to others that they shouldnt invest in cooling mods. I like to feel like im giving good info.

also...can anyone help explain the random system freezes...normally only happens after extended play time. so I attributed it to overheating...but if there is another explanation...im open to opinions or help.
