The reason im asking is with the potential of extra heat from the LED's it would also increase the risk of a YLOD.
Also just to add, very nice work, im now tempted to redo my mod slightly and find a use for my minimus dev board, as I have 12v going to the LED's from the bluray power supply, and 5v running from usb to the PulseVU 2X. I may take the pulsevu off leaving it connected to the LED's on top then use the minimus with the front LED's (under the memory card reader flap), and create a knightrider type effect :D

Heat rating? absolutely no idea lol. They are one of the brightest i could find 10000MCD apparently.
I have some SMD LED strips, where did you put yours, since mine won't fit under the sliding cover. Mine are water proof it that helps.
The LEDs won't increase the chance of YLOD, the case actually like a heatsinc (not a good one but it helps.) Most of the heat just warms the top of the case and the tape around the LEDs. Since the LEDS are no where near the motherboard or the chips on the MB they are not heating them up much. Also the added fan speed helps. You can see by the temperature sensor that it is cool (reasonably) in there as other PS3 go a lot hotter. Look at Killerbugs blog.
