This may be useful for me, that last few times I tried install ubuntu 10/11 I kept getting broken installs even after following the guide on gitbrew's wiki (IIRC it either got stuck at petitboot is restarting now or a black screen and no HDD activity).
The fact I couldn't install ubuntu manually though is annoying, I really want to learn this stuff for future use.
I think that is a big part of why this was made...it doesn't install the versions that are easy to install, only the ones that are a pain in the @55.
As for future use, just use this...if you mean installation on future systems, the process will be totally different anyway. If you mean installation on a PC, Ubuntu is easier to install than windows.
